JAS Bardejov Ltd. was one of largest shoe-making company in Czechoslovak Socialistic Republic before “velvet” revolution in 1989. After that the factory was “bought” by its headquarters, split into many smaller independent companies afterwards (though it was probably due to a fall of export to Soviet Union market together with inability to adapt to new conditions). Today there is only a torso of famous factory. Only a couple of small companies lives there by miracle today. The factory area is free to enter now.
